Phishing emails aim to trick people into revealing information that can then be abused. They often try to do this by posing as a common payment institution in order to gain the trust of the recipient and get hold of their financial information.
Recently, the name and logo of Unifiedpost, which provides payment technology for many large companies in Belgium, have also been wrongfully used for this kind of scam. Fraudulent emails have been circulating containing payment requests and a payment button linking to a homepage that appears to be that of Unifiedpost. However, this is not the case: It is actually a fake web page that has no relation to Unifiedpost.
We would therefore like to warn our users about these fake emails and share a few tips:
You can find more information about phishing and how to respond to it at www.safeonweb.be
If you have any doubts, you can always forward the email or link to phishing@unifiedpost.com
How can I tell that it is not a genuine Unifiedpost website?
Only trust web addresses within the pay-nxt.com domain
Click on the padlock to check the owner of the web address.
