A career civil servant, he began his professional experience at the Secretary of State for Trade. Subsequently, he was appointed Spain's representative on the Executive Board of the African Development Bank Group in Tunis between 2010 and 2013. Until 2015, he continued to work on multilateral financial institutions and development cooperation policies at the Ministry of Economy and Competitiveness in Madrid.
Between 2015 and 2016, he worked as an advisor in the office of the Secretary of State for Economy and Business Support. Subsequently, between 2016 and 2020, he worked in the cabinet of successive Ministers of Economy, mainly on issues related to the Spanish economy.
In 2020 he started working in the Directorate General for Economic Policy, in regulatory matters, and was appointed Deputy Director of Sector Analysis in September 2021.
