In this role, you will protect the integrity of the Banqup network by upholding stringent compliance protocols and addressing financial exposure. Your objectives include executing thorough Customer Due Diligence (CDD) and Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD) for our client base, performing precise risk evaluations, and maintaining the fidelity of KYC documentation. Furthermore, you will actively track and evaluate international watchlists—covering sanctions, Politically Exposed Persons (PEPs), and negative news—to verify potential alerts and guarantee that all operations align with global standards like FATF and OFAC

Responsibilities

‍

• Perform customer due diligence (CDD) and support enhanced due diligence (EDD) on new and existing customers in accordance with internal policies and regulatory requirements;
• Review and verify customer applications, based on extract of chamber of commerce, identification documents, beneficial ownership structures, and source of funds;
• Perform risk assessments and apply enhanced due diligence (EDD) measures for high-risk clients.
• Ensure accurate and timely updates to KYC records and maintain audit-ready documentation;
• Monitor and analyze watchlists, including sanctions, politically exposed persons (PEPs), and adverse media;
• Investigate and resolve potential matches flagged during screening processes;
• Ensure timely escalation of high-risk cases to senior compliance staff and management;
• Ensure all KYC and watchlist activities comply with global and local regulatory requirements (e.g., FATF, OFAC, EU sanctions)
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to mitigate risks and improve compliance processes;
• Provide recommendations to enhance the effectiveness of KYC and watchlist screening tools;
• Document KYC and Watchlist processes, key metrics definitions, and data workflows to support consistency, transparency, and repeatability in your day-to-day work;
• Provide input for the development of automated solutions to streamline KYC and watchlist processes and minimize manual tasks;

We would be happy to see

‍

• Relevant experience in a KYC or watchlist screening role, preferably in financial services or fintech;
• Proficient with MSOffice (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and Google Suite (e.g. Google Spreadsheets)
• Familiarity with KYC and screening software platforms;
• Detail-oriented, analytical, open-minded, and willing to acquire more technical knowledge;
• Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and discretion;
