We are seeking a motivated professional to serve as our Data Protection Officer (DPO) while leading privacy efforts and collaborating on broader compliance initiatives, including anti-bribery, whistleblowing, and ESG, in partnership with the Head of Legal and Compliance.
Your Mission
As our Data Protection & Compliance Officer, you will:
- Serve as the company’s designated Data Protection Officer (DPO), ensuring compliance with GDPR and other data protection regulations, especially in a fintech or payment context.
- Lead Unifiedpost’s Privacy Program and work with the Head of Legal and Compliance to strengthen and expand the Compliance Program.
- Drive the implementation of robust privacy and compliance frameworks across the organization to foster a culture of integrity and regulatory adherence.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and improve the company’s Privacy Program and Compliance Program, ensuring alignment with legal and ethical standards.
- Provide expert advice on GDPR compliance, data protection impact assessments (DPIAs), and related matters.
- Collaborate with the Head of Legal and Compliance to address regulatory obligations across domains such as whistleblowing, anti-bribery, ESG, and corporate compliance.
- Draft, review, and maintain privacy notices, policies, and data processing agreements.
- Train and advise staff on privacy and compliance requirements, fostering awareness across the organization.
- Monitor and report on compliance, including GDPR adherence and broader regulatory requirements, proactively addressing risks and issues.
- Support broader compliance domains with a focus on developing expertise in areas like anti-bribery and ESG initiatives.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for regulatory authorities regarding data protection matters and other compliance concerns.
- Maintain records of processing activities (ROPA) and oversee data breach notifications and responses.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to ensure compliance standards are met throughout the supply chain.
Your Profile
We’re looking for a dynamic team player with:
- A Master’s degree in Law.
- 3-7 years of relevant experience, preferably in privacy within a fintech or payment environment.
- Strong expertise in GDPR and privacy regulations, with a demonstrated interest in developing knowledge across broader compliance areas.
- Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work proactively and collaboratively.
- Strong communication skills in English (Dutch is a plus).
- A passion for new technologies and understanding their compliance implications.
